Overnight stay
This Mercure hotel is located in the centre of Nottingham and is ideal for anyone wanting to stay in the heart of the city. The service is excellent and the additional cost of the breakfast is well worth it. We stayed in a City Pad which was fine for one night. Compact and bijou but the room was clean, well appointed with a safe, tea and coffee facilities, iron and ironing board included. Plenty of good quality towels. We were located at the back of the hotel so outside noise wasn't a problem. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a peaceful nightcap in the 1st floor bar well attended to by the delightful Megan. All in all, a good, slightly quirky hotel and we look forward to returning for a 4th visit.

Hotel stay during July 2022 Hotel George Nottingham City Centre
Centrally located in city on the walking mall for great dining, shopping and entertainment. First rate rooms with all posh accoutrements, especially for a British facility. But the best part of the Hotel George is the terrific staff. Desk clerks were excellent at assisting in the challenging automobile approach to the hotel. The most outstanding was the evening server in the 2nd floor cocktail lounge/dining area named Meaghen Bates who not only had mastery of every obscure cocktail drink we could conjure, (and we indeed challenged her) but also she kept us all captivated with her narratives on the illustrious history of the George Hotel and Nottingham itself. I kept calling her "Norman Bate's sister." Her recounts of the ghostly legends and spirit sightings reported throughout central Nottingham led us to visit those locations which were spot on for fun and ghostly stories from the occupants. The cave grotto nighclubs right under the George Hotel are astounding and credible habitats for the ghosts she reported. ----- We entered Nottingham thinking our stay there would be ho-hum for what is sometimes billed as a "nothing British inland city" - but came away with great memories of a first rate hotel, partying fanatics on the walking mall, and lively entertainment via the hotel staff itself. Fantastic hotel in every way!
Room was perfectly clean, great style, amazing air-con which was already on when I arrived in 36 degree weather!
Alexa device in the room which is great!
Reception staff very helpful and accommodating!
I highly recommend anyone Visiting Nottingham to stay here as it’s right in the city centre with everything you need and great for ordering from Uber eats ;)
Massive shout out to the staff that was working the Sunday evening on my arrival 17th July!
Will be back in a few weeks!
Lovely stay and a little different to other hotels...
Very quirky but lovely hotel in a good spot in the middle of town. Easy check in and got a nice selection of ice cold beers in the room (preordered). The room was lovely and spacious and the air con was refreshing this week. Comfy bed, everything seemed clean overall. Thanks.
Quirky small hotel in the middle of the city
The hotel was well decorated and staff were very friendly.
Rooms were a little small and lacking amenities.
Location was superb, located in the heart of the city.
Recommended for couples or solo travellers looking to explore nottingham
Great place
It was really a fantastic experience altogether. The hotel is ideally situated in the centre of the city in a magnificent Georgian building. We were very lucky to be upgraded to a better room that happened to be the room in which Notts County football club was founded. The staff was very nice and friendly. Highly recommend
Great little hotel
Wasn’t quite sure what to expect as did not realise the history of this establishment. It is old to the point of uneven floors worn architecture but they have done a great job on the quirk factor. Bed was rather comfortable too and had a good nights sleep after a long day.
I cannot fault the staff here. Very helpful and friendly. Full buffet breakfast was delicious too with really good sausages.
Free soft drinks in the room topped off my experience.
Thank you
