Great location and fabulous staff
This is our third visit to the hotel and we have already booked again to return in January when we drop my daughter back to uni. The location is fabulous right in the city centre and within easy walking distance to everywhere. All the staff we have ever encountered have been great, friendly and really helpful nothing is too much trouble - my thanks in particular to Ashley and Sabrin. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends
Mercure for the November blues
The usual Mercure clever but sympathetic upgrade for an historic building with professional and modern streamlined service from the staff. The accommodation is very clean and well presented, has Wi-Fi throughout, and a lift.
Perfect location for visiting the Christmas markets (other retail therapies are available), Nottingham Castle, City of Caves etc.
It is surrounded by food and drink establishments to cater for every need, and in fact houses 3 bars of very different styles inside its walls.
The hotel does a good deal for very close by parking - £10 for 24 hours, and is situated close to a bus and coach station, and is close to bus and tram routes.
Lovely city centre hotel
Nice easy smooth check in, on arrival we were told we had been upgraded to a suite which was a lovely surprise. Stayed in room 208 which was a nice big room with a lovely king sized bed. Room was cold at first (to be expected with it being an old building and a big room) but it heated up really quickly once we put the radiator on. Bathroom had a bath and a shower and was really big, shower was spacious and powerful which can be rare for a hotel! Lots of toiletries and plenty of towels were provided. Tea, coffee, biscuits and soft drinks were available free of charge in our room. The lounge area of the room had a sofa bed and a tele, a nice little extra which is appreciated when staying more than 1 night. The only reason for 4/5 is that the wifi did not work very well, we ended up not bothering with it as it was quicker to use our data (not a big deal for me but could be for some people). Lace market car park is only a couple of minutes walk from the hotel and is discounted to £10 per 24 hours when staying. Overall a lovely hotel in a prime city centre location, would definitely stay here again.
Great location, great breakfast!
This city centre hotel has excellent staff, particularly Ashley in the Brasserie where we had a peaceful drink following a very busy day, and all the reception team. The breakfast was easily worth the £10 PP buffet style, good quality food, hot and great coffee. The Curious Tavern had a live band on Friday night. They were good but way too loud, even for the younger ears! The location was great for easy walking to the centre but this came with the downside of so much extraordinary street noise despite triple glazing, ear plugs are provided. We would definitely stay here again but will bring our own shower mat, the shower tray is lethally slippy, we solved the problem by putting a hand towel in the tray. All in all, our 2 night stay for a family wedding was good and we will return.
Best 60th Birthday Celebration ever !!!!!
My husband and I have just both recovered from covid and had lost a party and holiday to Antigua through it and were looking to celebrate my 60th the best way we could. We had an overnight stay in Leeds at the Queens 2 days prior and had booked the cosy room at the Mecure 2 days later.
On booking in we told our story of Covid and loss of party/holiday and Mandy and Darren gave us a free upgrade to one of the 5 Priviliage Rooms OMG this was fantastic and we could not thank them enough for their kindness. The room or should I say suite as it was over 3 rooms, was beautiful and the roll top bath was to die for. The breakfast the following morning was absolutely beautiful and plentiful and we have to say it was by far better than the one we had had at the queens 2 days earlier (sorry Queens but it was!) This hotel is an absolute little gem and the staff are so lovely, our grateful thanks go to Mandy and Darren for making 2 60 year old extremely happy and greatful after what has been a really rubbish year so far for us - most highly recommended and will definately use them again. Well done Mecure !!!!!!
Well worth a stay
Brilliant time here. The staff were lovely and the room was very nice. Very clean.
Breakfast was very filling and lasts till 11am.
Would come back again.
I also had some items that could be recycled and the receptionist took them off my hands.
Nice decor
I booked the suit and expected a lot more space but this was not the case the lounge area was really small and when you walk in the sofa bed was already open and was well to wall. The room decor was nice and bath room was lovely loads of space but disappointed with lounge area. As this was the reason we booked this room so we could chill in this area. The staff on site was lovely idea location for city centre.
Concert visit
We made a night out of a concert experience- the mercure was excellent, clean & comfortable, staff friendly & helpful.
We had breakfast which was buffet style & there was plenty of choice with the cooked option top notch.
If we had any slight moans it would be the tv in the room could have been higher as you can’t see it if lying in bed,
Overall experience
Hotel was exactly where we wanted to stay and literally 5 minutes walk to all the amenities such as shopping centre and motorpoint arena.
The room was amazing and very comfortable and value for money especially in a city centre. Thanks to your team
Fab boutique hotel
